

Vessel Replacement Project
The project was for two Mash Tun vessel replacement complete with associated pipework modifications at Carlsberg Northampton.
The tender was issued via AIS Vanguard, Krones were the main contractor who supplied the vessels, our contract being the decommission & independently replace existing redundant mash tun vessels complete with associated pipe work.
Assist Ainscough with the lift and shift to position vessels outside the brewhouse to allow us to prefabricate as much pipe work prior to arranged shutdown dates.
Works included decommission mash tun 2, cut and remove all pipe work and components to allow vessel to be removed from aperture.Then to install new vessel through aperture via crane.
Prefabricate pipe work to reduce shutdown period, all pipework to comply with PED CAT I which involved 10 % X-RAY of butt welds along with 100% visual inspection of all welds by Zurich 3rd party and pressure tested in position.
Robey were also responsible for our approved sub-contractor to lag and clad each vessel again to reduce the shutdown period.
The project ran to the agreed programme, and Vessel and pipe work complete with full documentation pack submitted prior to start up for each vessel.
The tender and order was split, the combined value being £206,800.00, plus additional works at £119,200.00. Making a project total of £326,000.00
